DVPlayer requirements:

Video Card - you can start playing with almost ANY middle class video card, but in order to receive a good interlaced signal for broadcasting you should use a video card like Matrox G550, Matrox P650, Matrox Parhelia APVe or BlackMagic DeckLink SP on PCI or PICExpress for SDI. With DeckLink you can use ordinary VGA card like PCIe ATI Radeon 9550 or upper. With Matrox P650 or Matrox Prehelia you will need a good sound card like Creative AUDIGY. With DeckLink you don't need a sound card.

* If you want to use G550 or P650 Matrox video card you should ask for a cable for TV Out. For Matrox G550 and P650 this cable is sold separatly and you must order it. You can order it from here(part number: CAB-HD15-TVF). For Matrox Parhelia APVe you don't need to order this cable.

* Matrox P690 dosen't work with DVPlay software, because it dose not support Pure DVDMax future.

DVPlay software will work with ANY video card that has the following features:

1. The video card must support two monitors and be able to show different picture in those two monitors.

2. The video card must be able to full the entire area of signal, for second monitor (TV)

3. The video card should be able to produce interlaced signal, because if a signal is not interlaced you will see some tearing when there are fast moving images. This problem occurres only on TV screens. For IPTV probably you may skip this demand, because user will watch it with computer screen.

Most of current videocards meet point 1, but fail with point 2 and 3. All of this 3 points are functions of the driver; they are not function of DVPlay software. We recommend using these models of Matrox, because they full all demand, work stable and are inexpensive, compared with other hardware solutions.

* If you want to broadcast trough SDI output we strongly recommend you to use only Black Magic DeskLink SP for PCI with drivers from our site (5.2.2), which are located in download section. If you want to use DeskLink SP for PCIExpress please ask for correct version of drivers.

Personal computer

DVPlayer Minimal
Property Minimal Recommended
Motherboard Intel with FSB 1066 Intel with FSB 1333
CPU Duo 2.4 GHz FSB Core 2 Duo 2.6 GHz FSB 1333
RAM  1 GB 2 GB
HDD ATA, SATA-I  SATA - II

Note: If you want to use Core 2 Duo processor you will need at least 2.4 GhHZ

Note: Even if you use PC with recommended parameters you may not be able to play files if other programs have been started on the same PC and have gotten a lot of CPU power. For that reason you must watch the Power Indicator. CPU power indicator becomes red when CPU usage gets into high value range and this usage has continued for more than a few seconds which may lead to the tear of playing. Normal CPU values when only DVPlay 5 is started are about 40-50 % on CPU 3.00 GHz.

DVPTitle requires:

  • A personal computer - DVPTitle work on playing PC (where work VideoPlayer).

Software

  • Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 2 or 3
  • Windows Vista - click here for important info how to tune Vista

If you are not able to start DVPlay's software after installation  please read requirements for successful installation.

One of the additional steps you should do after installing is to use a localized Windows (Windows without English language) you can read here

Type of MPEG2 files

DVPlay can work with many types of MPEG2 files. You can use different types of files in one playlist.

  • MPEG 2
  • Video - MPEG2 (ISO 13818) - 720x576 (PAL) or 720x480 (NTSC), Constant or Variable Bit rate between 3-15 MB/s
  • Audio - MPEG 1, MPEG 2 or Uncompressed (PCM), 44,1 KHz or 48 KHz
  • Microsoft AVI (DV25) - 720x576 (PAL) or 720x480 (NTSC). This is natural export movie for Premiere Pro 1.5 or 2.0
  • Windows media video 9 (WMV) - 720x576 (PAL) or 720x480 (NTSC).

* You may use custom size with this formats, for example 500x333 with purpose when output signal go to 16:9 to keep X and Y proportions.

* You must use WMV created with Eduis Pro with Conopus ProCoder Express for Edius because there some uncomfortable with some WMV due to used program libraries which may lead DVPlay software to crash. Please ask for full description how to create WMV which work stable with DVPlay's software.

* More about videofile format you can read here
